All platforms:

• macOS: DeltaWalker Classic installs as DeltaWalker Classic.app. It sits beside the new DeltaWalker app and never replaces it, so you can keep both.
• Windows: Installing DeltaWalker Classic using the MSI installer requires administrative privileges. If you do not have them, contact your system administrator. The installer upgrades an existing DeltaWalker Classic in place, and keeps your settings and licenses.
• Linux: unpack the archive, for example with tar xzf DeltaWalker-Classic-*_linux-x64.tar.gz. It makes a DeltaWalker-Classic folder: run DeltaWalker inside it. DeltaWalker Classic needs GTK 3, which desktop Linux distributions include.
• Upgrading from an earlier DeltaWalker Classic? Your settings and licenses carry over. On a Mac, check the new app before you remove the old one: see How Do I Install/Uninstall DeltaWalker Classic?

Activate DeltaWalker Classic

• Bought DeltaWalker Classic? Choose Help > Activate DeltaWalker Classic… and enter the activation code from your purchase email.
• Got DeltaWalker Classic Free? Enter the free activation code from our email in the same dialog.
• Already have a license key? In the same dialog, click Have an existing license key? Enter it here… to open Enter Existing License Key.
• Trial over? DeltaWalker Classic keeps running and offers Get Classic Free, Buy Pro, Buy Oro and Enter Activation Code…. Comparisons resume as soon as you activate a license. If you activated Free during the trial, it simply carries on as Free.
• Upgrading from Free? Buy Pro or Oro and enter its activation code in the same dialog. DeltaWalker Classic upgrades in place: no new download.

To check the file you downloaded, run shasum -a 256 <file> in Terminal on macOS, or certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256 in Command Prompt on Windows. It should print the same checksum.

Get DeltaWalker Classic Free

DeltaWalker Classic Free compares files and folders, edits text and binary files, and merges changes between the two sides of a file comparison. It is free for good: no purchase and no time limit.

Tell us your name and email address. We start the DeltaWalker Classic download and email you a free activation code. Enter it in Help > Activate DeltaWalker Classic… whenever you like: during the trial you keep every feature until the trial ends, and then DeltaWalker Classic carries on as Free.

Free, Pro and Oro

DeltaWalker Classic Free is DeltaWalker Classic without folder synchronization and remote locations. It has no time limit and no limit on comparisons.

• In Free: unlimited file, folder, image and binary comparison; text and binary editing, with text folding; copying a change between the two sides of a file comparison; copying, moving, deleting and renaming the entries you select in a folder comparison, and setting their dates; saving text and binary files; HTML, patch and JSON reports; and search and filters. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
• Not in Free: folder synchronization (Choose Sync Action, Update and Mirror), remote locations (FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTP and WebDAV), scripting, three-way comparison and merge, automatic merge, the XML Structure view, folder alignment filters, and Dropbox and Google Drive.
• Pro adds everything Free lacks, on one platform of your choice. Oro adds it on macOS, Windows and Linux. See the feature comparison, or buy a license.

DeltaWalker Desktop Beta 1

DeltaWalker Desktop is the new DeltaWalker as an app you install on your Mac: the same application as DeltaWalker Web, built on the new foundation. It does not replace DeltaWalker Classic, and you can keep both.

• Requirements: a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 12 Monterey or later.
• Version: 1.0.0-beta.1, 152.6 MB, signed by Deltopia and notarized by Apple.
• Free during the beta: nothing is locked. The beta ends on February 1, 2027 at 00:00 UTC. After that, the app opens on a notice that the beta is over, with a link back to this page.
• Intel Macs, Windows and Linux: builds for these come later.

Install

1. Open the disk image you downloaded.
2. Drag DeltaWalker into Applications, and open it from there.
